"Just a quick note to thank you for the excellent work done
on your electronic book, 'Fitness
for Divers.'
I began reading it in detail yesterday and must commend your
excellent scholarly research; succinct, accurate yet immensely
readable
text; generous references for skeptics; and sound advice. To top
that,
your editor and typographer has done flawless work. I'll be
recommending it to divers and patients who wish to pursue diving."

"I just wanted to let you know what a great thing you've
done. This
book should've been written a long time ago."

"I have already read your
book, and I must say that I am extremely satisfied, to say enthusiastic,
because finally we have a guide on exercise for diving. You have
filled an empty space, and I want one more time to congratulate
you for the overall work- I consider it a milestone."
Capt. Longino Giorda (Grado Gorizia, Italy)
"WOW!
I am really impressed with your book. I like to think that I am
fairly well versed in the physiology of both exercise and diving-
and
I learned a few things. I found it to be very
comprehensive and informative as well as easy to read and not
overly technical
or
'jargony.' You present the information in a clear, concise, and
easy to understand manner. I also thought it was very well organized.
I haven't yet experimented with any of the workouts, but I am planning
to as they present a different approach than
that I have been using for the past several years. Overall- I was
very impressed and I plan to recommend it to my students."

"Fitness
for Divers is not only exceptionally easy to read and apply, it’s
a book that concentrates on the most important piece of equipment
any diver has, their own body. The content contains a wealth of
diving physiology concepts combined with information on the direct
application of this knowledge. Many efforts have been made over
the years to interpret diving physiology research but none can
match Mr. Martz’s use of research, explanation, and instruction
into the application of this information to prepare an individual
for activities before, during, and after every dive. The easy to
follow diagrams and explanations make even the most complex stretches
and exercises look easy. This book is a must read for any diver
that wants to get more out of themselves and every dive."

"Cameron
Martz has long been the 'go to' guy worldwide on various discussion
lists for divers to get real, practical advice about
diving, training, fitness and health. Cameron's background as a
health and fitness professional as well as an avid active diver have
allowed him a unique and authoritative edge to that advice. Now,
with the release of 'Fitness for Divers' Cameron has done us all
a great service by codifying and structuring all his great
information into an excellent book that we can read and absorb
at our
own pace. With hundreds of pages of indispensable information,
you will
find this book will be always to hand and well thumbed before too
long. Quite simply this is the best .. heck, it's the ONLY book
specifically about fitness for divers and if it's not on your
bookshelf and regularly in your hands you are quite simply missing
out on improving a critical facet of your diving."

"It
has taken me longer than it should have to realize the importance
of fitness not only for diving, but for life in general.
When I finally came around a year and a half ago, Cameron was an
amazing resource. He shared his time and knowledge with me and
that pushed me to do a lot of my own research and learning. With
the release of 'Fitness for Divers,' Cameron has produced
an essential book for every diver in any level of fitness. Even
if this book had nothing to do with diving, it remains a great
book on fitness. What makes it essential is that it is geared towards
divers. Well illustrated strength exercises, mindful use of intensity
levels in cardio training, appropriate nutrition, injury prevention,
application of fitness to diving, detailed workout plans - it's
all there. Cameron, you've not only put together an amazing amount
of great information, you've made it applicable and understandable
for fitness neophytes and veterans alike. Thank you."

"I
just finished reading the PDF version of the book. This book will
set the standard for diving fitness. It's also a great
read with respect to overall fitness. You did a great job discussing
the impact of good cardiovascular conditioning on dive safety and
decompression. I think that reading it will inspire many to pursue
a greater level of fitness. I enjoy lifting weights, but I usually
only do that during the winter- your book has inspired me to add
weight training and stretching to my year around program. I am
happy with
the results
gained over just these last few weeks. I plan to add more variety
to my training in the future.
The references at the end of each chapter are especially good for
anyone with an interest in sports physiology as it relates to diving.
Thanks for taking the time to write the book. This is a must read."
